Personal Note

I began my ‘coaching journey’ in 2006. At that time, I was earning a 6-figure salary in a head-hunting City role that I, at best, tolerated. Through a magical chance opportunity (watch out for those!) I was lead (some might say, guided) to a weekend Introduction to Coaching – I knew immediately that this was the flavour of what was meant for me and my future business. I started training and learning to be a Coach.

And, so the struggle began! I blindly soldiered on, holding tightly onto the determination not to quit my job without a successful business to step neatly into, to carry on pretending that the money I earned in my City job made it worth continuing AND to prove that I was a BRILLIANT coach by…. NOT having my own coach! Have you guessed? None of this worked!

Yet, how many of us have allowed ourselves, like I did, to suffer in silence with our problems due to lack of knowledge of where to turn, misplaced pride, limiting beliefs, or even simple stubbornness?

I left my job in 2008 and hired a coach. It was my light bulb moment, epiphany even! “I don’t have to do this alone! What is more, an expert will give me the support, guidance and network I need to get me THERE (wherever that may be) sooner!”

By 2010 I was working with a high-level Mentor, having FUN in the process AND banking the benefits in every way – energy, time, money and success, to name just a few!I know that if I had not been so determined to ‘go it alone’ for those years, I would have cut a lot of corners, saved a lot of anguish AND banked a great deal of time and money!! All of our paths are different however, and in the contrary way that life can have of creating the perfect circumstances for our lives at any given moment, I now believe that the JOURNEY was one that I had to experience to FULLY empower me to be the mentor that I am today to coaches like you, like me, who seek utter fulfilment from their businesses, and indeed their lives, and KNOW it is possible through serving others and making a real difference in the world as a result.
